About / Unbolt Inc.
Who we are, what we do, and why.
// no paywalls. open by default.
Hard-to-find code isn’t a product. Wrapping free code in encryption and selling the key isn’t engineering — it’s a ransom note.
We’re done watching people put a price tag on code that was already free, just because it was hard to find. Everything here is researched on our own device, written up in the open, and shared without a login or a paywall. We’re bringing back the proper open-source way — if it’s here, it’s free. That’s the whole point.
// above board
Everything we do is on our own devices — or with the owner’s explicit say-so. We don’t unlock, root, or bypass locks on devices we don’t own. That’s not what this is. What we do: research in the open, teach the how, and help you get your own device max-rooted. You own it — we’ll help you open it.
// where we actually are
On our main test device (Fold 6), root is temporary — KernelSU, re-applied each boot. Bootloader: still locked. The unlock is mapped end to end, but the gate is a one-way QFPROM fuse we haven’t crossed.
What we’ve built instead: Orbit, PolyQon, RootForge — free, open source, for whoever wants them. Standing on the shoulders of samloader (nlscc), Bifrost (Zachary Wander), ColorBlendr (Mahmud0808), Hex Installer (Projekt Development), KernelSU (weishu), the GhostLock ecosystem, leefshitz2/Qualcomm_Loaders, and a whole lot of XDA threads.
